Approved by the McAllen City Commission on March 22, 2023, McAllen’s Fire Station #8 will service the growing northside of McAllen and the Tres Lagos master-planned community. It will house four firefighters and one fire engine company. This station will have the ability to house additional firefighters and units when the need arises in the future.
The fire station’s amenities will boast a square footage of 10,547 square feet and will include, like all other McAllen fire stations, a kitchen, dining room, dayroom, dispatch area, and two apparatus bays. However, what makes Fire Station #8 unique is that it will have both dorms and restrooms designed to house female firefighters.
The total cost of the McAllen Firefighter Training Facility is $4,633,500.
The estimated completion date is October 2024.
