Texas A&M University Higher Education Center at McAllen has broken ground on its newest building which will offer educational opportunity and community development for the valley. This $49.9 million investment inside Tres Lagos is another reason living here makes sense.
Nestled within the vibrant Tres Lagos Master planned community, this new 61,000‑square‑foot building at the Higher Education Center campus represents a significant stride towards addressing the educational and healthcare needs of the region. The state‑of‑the art facilities offer nursing classrooms, student study areas, a 10,000‑square‑foot clinical simulation center, a veterinary clinic and research laboratory focusing on Nursing Education, Veterinary Medicine & Biomedical Sciences research and outreach. The nursing program will offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. With 50 students a semester, the nursing school will allow more students to live and learn locally and address the critical shortage of nurses.
